Teresa Mallia is the founder and main practitioner of Kamei equine. Teresa has been passionate about horses since she was a young girl and her love of these beautiful animals has continued into adulthood. She first began her journey with natural horsemanship by studying with Intelligent Horsemanship, Parelli and following some of the great horsemen like Mark Rashid and Buck Brannaman. Teresa is also a qualified Equine Podiatrist and trained with KC La Pierre founder of the Institute of Applied Equine Podiatry.
Working through challenges with her own horses and her client’s horses, Teresa became interested in the connection between how we are feeling and how our horses behave. Teresa found that horses brought something unique to the process. Teresa has also served ten years in the Armed Forces; it was through this that she found The Dare to Live Trust which is a cutting edge education and life skills programme. The programme aims to improve the wellbeing and ease the challenges many servicemen and women experience as they transition into civilian life. The founder of Dare to Live Sun Tui is also the founder of IFEAL (International Foundation of Equine Assisted Learning)
Teresa has completed her first year of training which incorporates a validated and evidence-based Equine Facilitated Human Development and Learning (EFHDL) process. This process has been specifically developed by IFEAL over the last three years. The IFEAL methodology is a continuation of the work in the field of Equine Facilitated Human Development and Learning.
Teresa intends to create her practice in the field of life skills and transition into wellbeing for people of all ages and continue her training in this field to a Masters equivalent level
