Choose a Hoof Boot
Well, I was going to give you a selection of all the hoof boots available but to be honest, no-one could do it better than the wonderful Mark Bailey. If you don't believe me, then go and check it out for yourself 😉
How to Measure
If you're unsure how to measure the hoof and you can't get your hoof care provider to do it for you, each manufacturer has their own guide, or there this book on Amazon (full disclosure - I wrote it)
Hoof Boot Manufacturers
Easy Care (Easyboot, Old Mac and Boa Boots)
'Floating Boots' are designed in order to respect the natural bio-mechanics of the hoof whilst also being technologically advanced, providing high performance in the most challenging training conditions.
The triangle on the sole allows the independent movement of the heels when riding on uneven surfaces and the soft elastic gaiter does not interfere with the natural movements of the tendons and muscles when the pastern flexes.
`Floating Boots´ are made of thermoplastic material that allows for adaptation through heat for every type of hoof; flared, club, irregular; they are the only boots designed with different shapes for fore and hind.
`Floating Boots´ are ideal for even the most demanding rider and situation, whilst maintaining the comfort of the horse.
First Aid Hoof Protection
Horsecrocz are designed to take the pain out of poulticing hooves. They can be used to protect any hoof dressing.
The plastic used is both flexible and robust allowing it to be reused many times making it a cost effective alternative to using Duct tape to protect hoof dressings. Each Horsecrocz come with 10 ties and more tie packs can be bought separately.
A useful addition to any equine first aid kit. The design allows three sizes to fit the majority of equines and is quick and easy to put on. Breathable Horsecrocz are robust enough to allow horses to be turned out to a dry field or similar surface.
The Scoot Boot is the latest innovation in hoof boot technology which is superior to any other horse boot. This is due to its simplicity and ease of fit.
Unlike other hoof boots the Scoot Boot will not get soggy, heavy or wet when riding through wet terrain. This is because the Scoot Boot is constructed of very strong thermo-plastic urethane which gives the Scoot Boot superb strength to stand up to all types of terrain that you and your horse may ride over.
Unlike other hoof boots, there are no velcro straps that get clogged with mud, hair and other debris and no cables that may break. The Scoot Boot is the closest you can get to natural.
