Hello I started my training in 1992 in Wiltshire with master farrier Gerry Baker and qualified in 1997 with dwcf. Most of my apprenticeship was spent in the racing industry and I stayed within racing until I moved back to Oxford where I set up my own practice. I joined chapel forge farriers in 2006 for a year to help in the training of apprentices , I then started to set up a practice in South West France “English Farrier in France” where I shod for private clients in many departments.
My interest in barefoot has been built up over many years experience and I advocate removal of steel shoes as much as possible, if you can go without then stay without, I do still apply horse shoes but I am leaning towards new technology and application of plastic and rubber shoes with glue.
I will be happy to discuss your needs and formulate a trimming cycle which best suits needs.
Barefoot Farrier (1997)
